Operations Manager

What You Will Do

You will report to the CEO. Your role will be diverse; you will ensure daily operational requirements for service delivery are met and be engaged in long term forecasting for more strategic measures so that HCA is poised to effectively handle expansion plans. You will play an integral role in the smooth day-to-day operations of our day hospices and lead the team to ensure that regulatory requirements and service levels are met and maintained. You will work closely with the other heads of departments to meet the organisation’s and patients’ expectations. You will also be responsible for facility management for HCA in general.
The scope of work will generally encompass the following duties:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance so that policies and procedures are implemented in compliance with the directives, guidelines and standards of MOH and other government agencies
  • Supervise daily operations, establishing an environment that maximises resources including workforce planning and equipment availability. Plan and monitor staffing levels to optimise staff-to-patient ratio in both day hospices 
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget and ensure adequate resources to support the activities in your department
  • Ensure regular review of policies, practices, SOPs and level of service for continuous improvement. Ensure that policies, SOPs and manuals are updated regularly and documented
  • Establish effective communication channels within the department and ensure that staff are  updated on new developments and changes

Who You Are

  • Degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of similar work experience in a healthcare setting
  • A proven track record of leadership
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Able to  multitask, work independently and in a team
  • Proactive, resourceful, able to work under pressure

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
