About the speakers








Ms Venus Ther is currently the Deputy Head of Psychosocial Services (PSS) at HCA Hospice Care. She has 12 years of experience in Social Work and Counselling. Prior to joining HCA Hospice Care, she was in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education as a prison officer and school counsellor respectively.








Ms Amy Lim
 joined HCA Hospice Care in March 2008. She qualified as a trained nurse in 1986. She has worked in both public and private hospital. She was in the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Aesthetic Nursing before she joined HCA. Ms Lim has been a faculty in training-of-trainers in palliative care programs in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bhutan (Lien Collaborative for Palliative Care).

Ms Tan Ching Yee is a registered social worker and is currently the Head of Psychosocial Services (PSS) at HCA Hospice Care.  Trained in Social Work, Rehabilitation Counselling and Palliative Care, she has over 25 years of experience working in the Restructured Hospitals where she supported persons experiencing illness and disabilities, their families and caregivers as they go through phases of treatment, rehabilitation and recovery. Ms Tan also provides guidance and supervision to Social Workers and Counsellors.

Ms Jacqueline Ang has been supporting hospice work since 2006 at different capacity. Engaging the community of young carers to more recent years clinical practice as a social worker. Her personal walk with loved one living with cancer at age 15 and death of a significant loved ones in most recent years.  She brings with her personal anecdotal and professional observations in this very vulnerable & poignant phase of life that we will cross one day.
