Physiotherapist (Contract)

What You Will Do

The incumbent is responsible for helping patients to restore mobility, function and independence through detailed assessments and exercise prescriptions. He / She will provide individualized treatment strategies such as exercise, manual therapy/facilitation and patient education where appropriate. The scope of work will generally encompass the following duties:

 

  • Identifies treatment goals based on physiotherapy assessment, with additional inputs from the patients’ family.
  • Implements physiotherapy interventions (exercise, therapeutic modalities, education, etc.) based on patient needs, goals, and abilities.
  • Evaluates progress by keeping track of patient progress with a view to adjust treatment.
  • Communicates with other health care professionals and team members about patients' goals and care plan.
  • Participates in safe and effective discharge planning or transition of care.
  • Conducts research in physiotherapy and related fields.
  • Identifies screening tools and develops customized programs to optimize overall quality of life among our patients who have advanced life limiting conditions.
  • Works with Day Hospice (DH) staff for DH patients and home hospice nurses / doctors for home care patients.

Who You Are

  • Degree (and or Masters) in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution
  • Full Registration with Allied Health Professional Council
  • Preferably 2 years of relevant experienced
  • Mature, with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good multi-tasking and time management skills

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
